The Unix Nerd's Domain
Who is this Nerd anyway?
So
just who am I? Well I was born in Inverness in 1968. I moved to Aberdeen
when I started my degree in Electronic and Information Engineering at Robert
Gordon's University. After that I had a business in Inverness for a few
years but then I came back to Aberdeen to work in the oil industry. I recently
moved up to Aviemore to escape the rat race but at the time of writing I still have a flat in Aberdeen too.
I program Java/C++ and administer an HP-UX network for a living. I'm one the lucky few who enjoy their jobs. I also buy and sell used workstations and work on BMWs.
As you may have noticed I've very into BMWs, especially older models. But I also enjoy cycling, hillwalking, building model BMWs and boats and making curries.
Things I despise include the government. One party is as bad as another so who cares which bunch of lunatics are running the asylum. I'm also fed up paying over 85% tax on petrol in the Highlands because there are too many cars in central London. I can't stand incompetence which meanse I'm not Aberdeen council's biggest fan.
Other pet hates include drivers who use mobile phones, speed traps, microsoft windows, Chris Bangle (BMW's worst ever car designer) convenience food and people who don't like cats or BMWs.
